treasures made of the things you love.
My name is Fabiana Brownell.
I live in the country surrounded by the people and things I love. My husband and I share our home with two big furry kids (dogs). I'm a mom to three pretty awesome grown kids and a grandma to three wonderful little girls.
A couple of years ago I decided to leave my job of 36 years. I knew I'd miss my work family, but I was really looking forward to spending more time doing the things that I love. Photography is one of those things.
I've been passionate about photography since I was a little kid sitting on the couch next to my grandma. We would spend hours looking through her photo albums. Those albums sparked emotions in me. I am so thankful that my grandma documented her life. How cool it was to see my mom dressed in a tutu for her dance recital at 4 years old. And to see grandma with dark hair (not grey) wearing her Easter dress complete with matching hat, purse, and shoes. I saw her life and things that were important to her.
My grandma is now gone, but her pictures aren't. They are something tangible of the past. Our minds might forget, but pictures don't. These photos are a treasured gift that she gave our family. All families should have heirlooms like these to pass down.
At age 17, I bought my first "real" camera. I bought it for a photography class in high school. It was a really big deal for me. This was back in the days of film and darkrooms. To me, creating a photo in a darkroom from film negatives was magic (still is). I was hooked! I became one of our school's yearbook photographers and evolved into someone who carried a camera everywhere. I loved documenting my life.
NOTE: Our generation is the most photographed generation ever. Cell phone cameras have changed how we document our lives. BUT photos of today reside on a cell phone or in "the cloud". A dead phone or a forgotten password can make them disappear forever. Take the time to print some of your photos and put them in an album and share them with others. You'll be glad you did.
I aim to provide high quality, yet affordable, photography sessions for individuals and families. We often think of scheduling a photo session as a luxury, but it doesn't have to be. My photo sessions can be as affordable as taking the family going out to dinner at a restaurant. You shouldn't have to avoid photo sessions because you don't think you can afford one. You deserve to have photos of your life without breaking the bank.
I truly believe that photos tell stories. Photos can be a direct reflection of life or a cool look at life from a unique point of view.
If you read my story (above), you'll know that I believe that photos are family treasures. Looking at them can rekindle emotions of times past and bring back fond memories of loved ones, life experiences, and accomplishments. Pictures document the things and events that are important to you.
From the more common things like yearly birthdays, school pictures, and weddings, to things you may not have considered, like:
Your new home,
Your furry kids (pets),
Before (and after) completed house projects,
Family reunions,
Baby & wedding showers,
a (finally) restored car project,
An adoption ceremony,
Your house decorated for the holidays,
Kids playing in a park or your back yard,
Kids participating in sports,
or even a neighborhood backyard barbecue.
All parts of your life are worth documenting...it goes by so fast.
You'll be thankful you did.
Whatever is important to you is worth capturing.
Please let me have the honor of helping you tell your story.
